The Ogun State Police Command has intensified its enforcement drive against traffic violations in Sango-Ota, leading to the arrest and arraignment of nine offenders under its ongoing “Operation No Traffic Gridlock.”
Operatives from the Sango-Ota Division carried out the operation in compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni. The exercise targeted major flashpoints known for persistent congestion and road indiscipline within the busy commercial corridor.
During the coordinated operation, several vehicles and tricycles were intercepted for breaching traffic regulations, while those found obstructing the free flow of traffic were impounded in line with the Command’s zero-tolerance stance.
The arrested suspects were identified as Rufus Kunle, Sanni Ogbewi, Aremu Oluwatunmise, Kayode Ariyo, Wisdom Akpan, Yinka Molaolu, Olushola Adebowale, Ikechukwu Ogah, and Nwuda Chukwuka. Police authorities confirmed that all nine individuals have been formally charged in court.
The Command stated that monitoring and enforcement efforts would continue across the Sango-Ota axis to apprehend other violators undermining public safety and order.
Commending the professionalism of the operatives, CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to rid Ogun roads of traffic obstruction and recklessness. He warned that anyone found deliberately causing gridlock or disobeying lawful directives of traffic officials would face strict legal consequences, regardless of status.
The police also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through its emergency lines.
