Nigeria, Ogun State — Founder of the Alajobi Movement Worldwide, Isikalu Olalekan Abidemi, has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration came shortly after the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja, following what he described as extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the constituency.
Speaking with journalists, Abidemi said his decision was reached after wide-ranging discussions with party elders and political leaders who urged him to step forward and serve. He noted that his ambition reflects the collective yearning of the people for inclusive, accessible, and result-driven representation at the National Assembly.
He expressed gratitude to key figures within the party whose leadership continues to shape its strength in Ogun State, including Governor Dapo Abiodun and APC State Chairman Yemi Sanusi.
Abidemi also acknowledged the support and leadership of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
Further appreciation was extended to Iziaq Adekunle Salako, as well as members of the Ogun State Executive Council, including Omoniyi Jagunmolu, alongside other commissioners, political appointees, and party stakeholders across Ogun West.
He also commended grassroots party leaders, particularly APC chairmen in Yewa North and Imeko-Afon local government areas, describing them as vital to the party’s structure and success.
According to Abidemi, his aspiration is driven not by personal ambition but by a commitment to deliver impactful representation that will attract development to the constituency.
“My aspiration is about service and the future of our people. Yewa North and Imeko-Afon deserve strong representation that will bring federal presence, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and greater opportunities,” he said.
The Alajobi Movement leader added that his years of political engagement and strong grassroots connection have equipped him to effectively represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
Observers say his declaration signals the start of intensified political activities in the area as momentum gradually builds toward the 2027 general elections.
With this move, Abidemi joins a growing list of aspirants seeking to shape the future representation of Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency.
