Leaders and residents of Orile-Oko community in Ogun State have thrown their weight behind the 2027 governorship ambition of Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
The endorsement came from a broad coalition including Baales, the “Bibire” political group, APC members in Ward 8, market women, youths, and other stakeholders in the community.
The group described Yayi as a capable and experienced leader with the vision to steer the affairs of the state, noting that he is well-positioned to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun in 2027.
They also pledged strong support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring him of massive votes from Orile-Oko.
The endorsement was announced during a Ward 8 meeting held on Wednesday, which attracted a large turnout of APC members and supporters. The gathering was said to reflect the growing influence of the “Bibire” group, led by High Chief Olakunle Olalekan Joseph.
Speaking at the meeting, High Chief Olakunle, who is also the Lisa of Orile-Oko and a chieftain of the APC, said the group’s decision to support Yayi was based on his track record of development across Ogun State.
He commended the senator for impactful projects, including the donation and installation of a 33kva transformer in the community, as well as initiatives in road construction, youth and farmer empowerment, and other constituency projects.
According to him, Yayi’s performance has exceeded expectations, noting that his developmental efforts extend beyond his Ogun West Senatorial District to other parts of the state.
He said the large turnout at the meeting demonstrated the group’s unity and commitment to ensuring Yayi emerges as the next governor, expressing confidence that the senator would deliver even greater results if elected.
High Chief Olakunle also called on residents across Ogun State to rally behind Yayi’s ambition, emphasizing that his leadership qualities and achievements make him the preferred choice for 2027.
